The City of Escondido
The city of Escondido sits just east of San Marcos and north of Rancho Bernardo. Its location is settled within gentle rolling hills which feature avocado and citrus groves. Escondido is a diverse community and one of the fastest growing cities in the area. The California Center for the Arts has an extensive offering of plays, musicals, and shows. Not only do they provide entertainment, but they have a wide variety of arts education programs for all ages and backgrounds, providing for lifelong learning opportunities. Additionally, from March 30th to September 28th, you can see American made cars pre-1974, stroll the streets throughout Historic Downtown Escondido.
There are a wide variety of elementary, middle, and high schools within the area. The elementary and middle schools are part of the Escondido Union School District. The Escondido high schools are part of the Escondido Union High School District. Two colleges just 6 miles to the east include Palomar College and Cal State San Marcos.
With the Wild Animal Park just south in the San Pasqual Valley, you can see all types of animals in an open habitat ranging from butterflies to giraffes.
